Companies

Dance Unlimited offers Jazz performing Companies and Hip Hop Crews. These companies offer serious dancers the chance to excel quickly in technique, performance training and self-discipline, leading to more performing opportunities. 

Every two years we organize a trip where the dancers have the opportunity to take part in master classes, workshops and performances. We have traveled to California and performed in Disneyland four times, Mexico, West Edmonton Mall and most recently New York. We are off to California again in March 2012!

Company News (updated Feb. 8/12)

• We are currently booking for our annual "school tours" shows in May. We will be performing on 2 Friday's, May 11th and 18th, 3 shows a day. When I have more information, I will pass it along to you.
• A reminder that there are rehearsals for all companies (not just Disneyland dancers) this Sunday, Feb. 12th. Int's are 9-10, Sr. Adv. are 10-11, Jr's are 11-12:15 and Mini's are 12:15-1:30.
• Disneyland Reminder: Payment for Disney passes, EDGE transportation and classes are due on February 14th.
• We have been booked for a performance on Saturday, April 21st. Please keep this day open until we know for sure which companies will be performing and at what time. We will also be taking part in the Buccaneer Days Parade on June 9th. Please keep that morning open as well. Don't forget to mark those dates on your calendar! 
• Congratulations company dancers! You were awarded first place in the Esquimalt Light Up Parade! Great job ladies!

Company Auditions

• Placement is based on: maturity, ability, attitude, effort, previous attendance and stage presence.
• Company Auditions were on Tuesday, June 14th. If you missed them but would like to audition, please contact the office to arrange a time for your audition.

Company Class Requirements/ Fee Schedule

• It is strongly suggested that all Company dancers take a Jazz class in addition to their Company class. Some dancers may be required to take an additional Jazz class and will be notified when invitation letters are emailed out.
• In addition to the $25.00 registration fee, there is a $112.00 Company Rehearsal/Administration fee which covers extra rehearsals, extra notices, choreography, etc and includes a Company t-shirt. This can be included monthly in your post-dated cheques or paid in full at time of registration.

• Class requirements are as follows:
  Mini Company
       1 hr. Company & 1 Ballet class
  Junior Company
       1 hr. Company, 1 Ballet class & 1 1 hr. class of your choice
  Intermediate Companies
       1.25 hr. Company, 1 1 hr. Ballet class & 2 1 hr. classes of your choice
  Senior Advanced Company
       1.25 hr. Company, 1 1 hr. Ballet class & 2 1 hr. classes of your choice
        (Senior Advanced dancers in Grade 12 or in University are only expected to take 1 additional class, not 2)
  Pre-Professional Company
       1.25 hr. Advanced Company & 1 1hr. class of your choice
  Hip Hop Crews     1 hr. Company & 1 Jazz class (can be Jazz company class)

• Costume Deposit:
     Company costume deposit is $80.00 and is due at time of registration but may be post dated until Nov. 1st, 2011.
     This is in addition to costume deposits for all other classes. (Ballet, Hip Hop, etc.)
